Rising sophomore Finn Whalen was named CCL Pitcher of the Week for his dominant opening day outing against the Menlo Park Legends. A CCL Showcase Game Nominee last season with the Seagulls after posting a 3.91 ERA with 41 strikeouts in 50 innings. Whalen started this season where he left off last year and went 5.2 innings, allowing just two hits and two earned runs while collecting the win. He struck out six batters, and his WHIP sits at a minuscule .71.
