The Walnut Creek Crawdads are a collegiate summer baseball team competing in the California Collegiate League (CCL) North Division. Founded in 2006 by local businessman Marshall Murray, the Crawdads have spent nearly two decades providing collegiate athletes with opportunities to grow their skills, compete at a high level, and prepare for future baseball success.
Based out of the Bay Area, the Crawdads play their home games at Monte Vista High School Baseball Field in Danville, California — a hub for summer competition and community support.
A Team Built on Competition and Development
Since their inception, the Crawdads have competed against top collegiate talent from around the country, offering players a wood-bat summer experience that mirrors the challenges of professional baseball. As a non-profit organization dedicated to the growth of amateur college ballplayers, the Crawdads emphasize both athletic development and overall player experience.
After an initial early era that saw the team participate in leagues such as the Far West League and a stint in the Bay Area Collegiate League, the Crawdads returned to the California Collegiate League in 2020 under new management with Brant Cummings, and have competed in the CCL North ever since.
