In the latest episode of "On The Horizon: A California Collegiate League (CCL) Baseball Podcast", Sammy, Calvin, and Max spotlighted the Orange County Riptide, as both the Hitter of the Week and Pitcher of the Week honors belonged to OC. The three hosts interviewed Cooper Clouser (Hitter of the Week) who showcased an impressive 10-12 (.833) week at the plate. They also overviewed Pitcher of the Week Sammy Cova's outstanding performance against the Conejo Oaks at Great Park in which he fanned 6 batters in 4 innings and earned the win, which Sammy and Calvin got to witness firsthand.
Afterwards, the three hosts touched on how competitive the week was on the north side of the CCL. The red-hot Walnut Creek Crawdads (2nd in the CCL North) witnessed a walk-off 3-run HR from Riley Winchell against the Alameda Merchants on June 18. Still, the San Luis Obispo Blues (1st in the CCL North) are 5 games ahead of the Crawdads. And of course, the three hosts closed the episode out with their "A View From the Booth" segment, as the three broadcasters shared their personal perspectives on what they saw throughout the week.
