Bruce Martin (Stetson) had the performance of the CCL season so far, driving in seven runs on a grand slam, a two-run double and a sacrifice fly to lead the Academy Barons to a 10-5 win over the Conejo Oaks tonight at the MLB Urban Youth Academy. Martin’s grand slam, the big hit in the Barons’ six-run fifth inning, came with two outs in the inning and followed an RBI-double by Solomon Bates (USC), who had a game-high four hits, and an RBI-single by Jonah Dean-Hargroves (Jackson St). Martin’s two-run double in the second inning, following a run scoring single by Eric Whitfield, gave the Barons a 3-2 lead after the Oaks had scored twice in the top of the frame on a two-run triple by DJ Miller (Ole Miss). Miller drove in a total of three runs while matching Bates’ game-high total with four hits of his own (two singles, the triple and an RBI-double in the eighth inning) to lead the Oaks and improve his league third-best average to an even .500.

San Luis Obispo, CA
Dayton Provost (Canyons JC) hit three run-scoring singles and a double and Dylan Francis (Cal Poly Pomona) had nine strikeouts in six innings of work to lead the Ventura Halos to a 9-6 win over the San Luis Obispo Blues tonight at Sinsheimer Park. Provost upped his league batting average to .551 with his four-hit performance, swapping places at the top of the leaders’ board with the Blues’ Price Visintainer (Ala-Birmingham), whose two hits in four at bats tonight, including a first inning solo home run, actually made his average dip to .526. Aside from the bragging rights of being the league’s best hitter and the early 1-0 San Luis Obispo lead, Ventura scored four runs on five singles and a sacrifice fly in the second inning to take command of the game while Francis kept the Blues at bay. Francis retired 14 of the first 15 hitters he faced, Visintainer being the exception, before allowing consecutive singles in the fifth inning with two outs, but avoided giving up any runs by punching out the next hitter. He was tagged for a run in the sixth inning, however, giving up a leadoff double to Tyson Quolas (Monterey Bay) and an RBI-single by Nkosi Djehuti-Mes (Corpus Christi), but by then the game was well in hand. Ventura added their fifth run in the third inning on an RBI-double by Joey Mendez (Fresno St), an insurance run in the seventh on a Provost single, and three more in the eighth on three consecutive two-out RBI-singles by Chris McKee (Ventura JC), Provost and Calvin Farris (Brown).

Santa Barbara, CA
The Santa Barbara Foresters spoiled a great outing by Southern California Catch starting pitcher Zac Whittaker (Fresno CC) by scoring two runs with one out in the bottom of the ninth to post a 4-3 walk-off win tonight at Pershing Park. Whittaker pitched eight strong innings, allowing only two runs, both unearned, on only two hits while striking out five with only one walk. He was relieved in the ninth by Matthew Wade (SE Missouri St) who immediately met trouble. Ryan Reynolds (Texas) hit a single, his second hit of the game, to lead off the inning and David Hamilton (Texas) was brought in as a pinch-runner. A wild pitch and a sacrifice bunt later, Hamilton was at third base when David Clawson (BYU) singled him home to tie the score at 3-3. Joey Fiske (St. Mary’s) was then brought in to run for Clawson, stole second base and scored on a single by Ashton Easley (Air Force) with the game winner. Evan Kravetz (Rice) picked up the win in relief for Santa Barbara, finishing the last two innings for starter Jake McDonald (Texas Tech) who went five, allowing two runs on RBI-singles by Mitchell Bumann (Hawaii-Pacific) and Nate Pecota (William Jewell) in the fifth inning. Pecota also had an RBI-groundout in the seventh to score Shay Whitcomb (UCSD), who had doubled, to post a game-high two RBI.

Oakland, CA
The Rockville Rock Hounds erupted for seven hits, including a three-run home run by Max Smith (UNLV) and a two-out, two-run double by Nathan Gutierrez (Solano CC), to post a seven-run fourth inning en route to a 15-5 win over the Walnut Creek Crawdads today at Laney College. Brandt Frazier (Rice) drove in another one of the fourth inning runs with a single and added a two-run home run later in the seventh to join Smith with a game-high three RBI. In total, Rockville collected 16 hits in the game with each one of the nine starters accounting for at least one hit, and leadoff hitter William Homza (Brown) led all with a double, two singles, two RBI and two runs scored. Connor Caspersen drove in two runs on a double and two singles to lead Walnut Creek. Carson Haws had five strikeouts in two and a third innings of relief for Rockville to lead the pitching performances.

For the second day in a row, the results for today’s game in Long Beach will have to be delayed to a later date as the game between the Arroyo Seco Saints and the Long Beach Legends was suspended in the 12th inning due to darkness with the scored tied 3-3. This game will be resumed prior to the next regularly scheduled game between the same two teams at the same location.

Oakland, CA
The Neptune Beach Pearl swept a doubleheader against the Auburn Wildcats 4-2 and 7-6 tonight at Laney College. Details of the games were not available at post time.

Ventura, CA
For the second day in a row the Santa Barbara Foresters flexed their pitching strength and shutout their opponent, sending three pitchers to the mound for a 1-0 victory over the Ventura Halos at Ventura Junior College. One day after four Santa Barbara pitchers combined for 12 strikeouts of two-hit ball in a 4-0 win over the Academy Barons, three pitchers today combined for 14 strikeouts of four-hit ball. Nathan Wiles (Oklahoma) started on the mound for the Foresters and pitched five innings, allowing only two hits and one walk while striking out four. John McMillon (Texas Tech) then came in and struck out five in two innings, and Evan Lee (Arkansas) did the same in his two innings. Ventura’s pitching staff was nearly as effective as Santa Barbara’s, however, if not nearly as dominant. While not recording as many outs via the strikeout, three Ventura pitchers held the Foresters in check. Drew Van Winkle was in total command for the first five of his six innings, facing one batter over the minimum, 16, before escaping a one-out, bases-loaded situation unscathed by punching out the last two batters of his outing. The only blemish on either team’s pitching line, in fact, the one that would determine the outcome of the game, was the unearned run allowed by Ventura in the eighth inning when Austin Todd (Texas) reached on an error, was balked to second, advanced to third on a groundout and scored on an error with two outs.

Nick Pagan (Cuesta) hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning and reliever Austin Isenhart (New Mexico) held off the hard-charging Healdsburg Prune Packers for the final five innings to give the San Luis Obispo Blues a 7-6 win tonight at Sinsheimer Park. Pagan’s homer, the big hit in a four-run opening at bat for the Blues, followed three consecutive singles by Ricky Martinez (Sacramento St), Price Visintainer (Ala-Birmingham) and Nkosi Djehuti-Mes (Corpus Christi), who plated one run with his single and put two runners aboard for Pagan. Healdsburg, having held a 2-0 lead briefly when Bryce Nagata (Sonoma St) tripled to lead off the game and scored on a sacrifice fly, and Dane Tofteland’s (Indiana St) RBI-single scored Cameron Warren (Texas Tech), started what would be a game-long chase to even the score. The Packers scored twice more in the top half of the second inning to tie the score at 4-4, but the Blues immediately added one of their own in the bottom half. San Luis Obispo then scored single runs in the sixth and seventh innings, and Healdsburg scored one each in the seventh and ninth to come up one run short. Visintainer had three hits in four at bats to improve his league leading average to .529, and Martinez, Pagan, Djehuti-Mes and Tate Samuelson (Cal Poly) each had two hits to lead the Blues. Warren finished with a double, three singles and three RBI to lead Healdsburg.

Thousand Oaks, CA
Matt Mogollon (Chapman) and Solomon Bates (USC) combined for eleven strikeouts and Javier Garcia (Compton JC) hit a two-out, two-run single in the top of the ninth inning to break a 2-2 tie and give the Academy Barons a 4-2 win over the Conejo Oaks today at Sparky Anderson Field. Mogollon and Bates managed to hold down an Oaks offense that had ten or more hits in each of its twelve previous games this summer. Mogollon allowed one run while scattering five hits over his six innings of work, recording all of his six strikeouts in the last three of his outing, two per inning. Bates worked the last three innings in similar fashion, striking out five, including all three outs in the eighth inning, while allowing only one run. Garcia’s game-winning hit was setup when Joseph Argumedo (Lynn University) doubled with one out and Jonah Dean-Hargroves (Jackson St) reached-on-error with two outs.

San Luis Obispo, CA
Landon Etzel (Houston) hit a grand slam and Esteban Martinez added three RBI as the Healdsburg Prune Packers routed the San Luis Obispo Blues tonight 12-1 at Sinsheimer Park. Etzel’s homer, the first grand slam of the CCL season, was the big blow in Healdsburg’s five run fifth inning which, after scoring three runs in the third and two more in the fourth, all but iced the game for the Prune Packers. Healdsburg starter Nolan Bond (Houston) was the beneficiary of the offensive outburst, picking up the win with five innings of work, striking out three and allowing only one run despite giving up seven hits. Bryce Nagata (Sonoma St) had a three hit game, and five other Healdsburg hitters had two in their 14-hit attack. Price Visintainer (Ala-Birmingham) remained hot at the plate for the Blues, picking up two hits in four at bats to maintain his second-best league average at .500.

For the second time in ten days the Walnut Creek Crawdads, way down in the early season standings, showed their potential by beating the team atop league competition. The Crawdads beat the Neptune Beach Pearl, winners of seven straight and ten of eleven games this summer, 10-7 today at Laney College. Walnut Creek, whose record now stands at 3-10, last week beat the as-yet-undefeated Healdsburg Prune Packers. Today the Crawdads were outhit by Neptune Beach 16 to 14, but used a five-run sixth inning, highlighted by a three-run home run by David Langer (Chabot) and the third of four hits in the game by John Ballard (Colorado Mesa) to pull ahead for good. Jordan Williams (Diablo Valley JC) had three hits, including a pair of doubles, Tim Lichty (Texas A&M) had a three-run double and seven Pearl hitters had multiple-hit games to highlight the Neptune Beach offense.

Ty Wiest (Columbia), Corey Herndon (Auburn), Colton Follett and Garrett Gayle (Rice) recorded a combined 12 strikeouts and allowed only two hits as the Santa Barbara Foresters shut out the Academy Barons 4-0 today at the MLB Urban Youth Academy. The four Foresters pitchers recorded at least one strikeout in eight of the nine innings and six times had one-two-three innings. Wiest, who started and allowed only one hit, a leadoff single in the first to Denzl Chapman (San Diego St), retired the next 15 batters he faced en route to earning the win. David Clawson (BYU) had the big hit offensively for Santa Barbara, clearing the bases with a double in the third inning.

Theron Kay (Northridge), Jackson Simonsgaard (Oxnard JC), Evan McMillin (UC Irvine) and Robby Medel (Arizona) combined to throw a three-hit shutout to lead the Conejo Oaks to a 7-0 victory over the Arroyo Seco Saints today at Sparky Anderson Field. The Oaks’ pitching rotation faced the minimum three batters in five of the nine innings and combined to record nine strikeouts. Max Weinstein (Cal Lutheran) had two doubles and a single and Chase Cockrell (Ole Miss) hit a solo home run in the first inning to lead Conejo.

Jake Pulcheon (Houston Baptist) had three hits, two RBI and scored twice, and the Orange County Riptide had four hits, three for extra bases, in a three-run seventh inning that provided the margin of victory in their 8-5 win over the Long Beach Legends today at Concordia University. Tate Shaw (Texas) tripled to lead of the seventh inning for the Riptide and scored on a double by Dominic Fletcher (Arkansas) who himself scored on a Logan Pouelsen (Hawaii) double to give Orange County their eighth run. Pulcehon, Pouelsen, Joey Parente and Mitch Andrews (Lamar) all had multiple-hit games for the Riptide. Tommy Anderson (Doane) had three hits to lead Long Beach.

Zack Phillips (Grayson College) pitched seven innings of one-run ball, recording eight strikeouts along the way with only one walk, and the Arroyo Seco Saints withstood a ninth inning two-out rally to give him a 4-3 win over the Orange County Riptide today at Concordia University. Phillips was masterful today in never allowing the Riptide hitters to get anything going, recording four one-two-three innings, two innings facing four batters and one inning five. The one run he allowed was unearned and he notched at least one strikeout in six of his seven innings of work. Phillips exited the game leading 5-1, the Saints having scored once in the first as Bryan Smith (Occidental) led off the game with a ground rule double and scored on a single by Spencer Mossburg (Lee), three times in the third on RBI-at bats by Mossburg (double), a sacrifice fly by Blake Burton (Washington), and an RBI-single by Tyler Durna (UCSD), and scored their fifth run in the seventh as Mossburg once again drove in Smith. The Riptide, however, did not go quietly into the night. With two outs and nobody on, five consecutive batters reached base, four via a hit and one via an error. Connor Beck (Texas Tech) drove the first run in for Orange County in the ninth on a double, Tate Shaw (Texas) drove in the next two runs with a single, and when Beau Phillip (San Joaquin JC) followed Tate with a single of his own, the Riptide had the tying run ninety feet away. Arroyo Seco closer Josh Walker (Butler) got the out the Saints needed, however, a ground ball to the first baseman to close the game and earn the save.

Blair Henley (Texas) threw six scoreless innings with five strikeouts, John McMillon (Texas Tech) recorded all six outs of his two innings of pitching via the strikeout, and Evan Lee (Arkansas) faced the minimum three batters in a scoreless ninth to lead the Santa Barbara Foresters to a 3-1 victory over the Academy Barons today at Pershing Park. The only scoring blemish to the Foresters pitching line came when McMillon walked the first batter he faced, Randy Rubio (Marymount), who advanced around the bases on a hit batsmen and a pair of passed balls. But then McMillon dialed in and struck out the next six batters he faced. Henley was just as unhittable today, allowing only four baserunners in his six innings, one each on a walk and a reached-on-error, and the other two by isolated doubles by Hunter Allen (Alabama St) in the second inning, and by Javier Garcia (Compton JC) in the sixth. Kyle Marinconz (Cal Poly) doubled and scored on a single by Joshua Jung (Texas Tech) in the first, David Hamilton (Texas) tripled home a run in the second, and Austin Todd (Texas) tripled and scored on a Marinconz single in the fifth to account for the Foresters runs.

Evan Sandmann (Dallas Baptist) doubled home the tying run with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning and then scored the go-ahead run on an outfield error as the Southern California Catch prevailed 3-2 today in what turned out to be a staff pitching duel with the Long Beach Legends at Biola University. Catch starting pitcher Tayton Smith (Azusa Pacific) threw five scoreless innings, and his counterpart, Legends starter Josh Aguilar, who had six strikeouts over six innings of one-run ball, kept the game tight before turning it over to the bullpens. Four Catch relievers combined to limit Long Beach to two runs, both of which got on base via walks, one scoring on an RBI-double by Tommy Anderson (Doane) in the sixth inning, the other on a RBI-single by Grant Gamble (Azusa Pacific) in the eighth. The two relievers for Long Beach were just as stingy, allowing only two earned runs, one run scored by Anthony Seminaris (Arkansas Ft. Smith), who doubled to lead off the bottom of the sixth inning and scored on another double by Shay Whitcomb (UCSD), and the other when Sandmann got his hit in the seventh, but the game was inevitably decided by a defensive error.

Blake Chiramonte hit a bases-loaded, bases-clearing two out double as the Ventura Halos batted around and scored six times to take command of their game today against the San Luis Obispo Blues at Ventura College and win 8-5. Chiramonte was the ninth hitter to come to bat in the sixth inning for Ventura and his three RBI double came on the heels of an RBI-single by Dayton Provost (Canyons JC), an RBI-double by Armet Johnson (Cal St. LA) and an RBI-ground out. Up until that point the Halos had been dominated by the pitching of San Luis Obispo starter Austin Dondaville (Cal Poly), who struck out nine and allowed only three baserunners in five innings of work. But as soon as Dondaville was replaced by a reliever, Ventura pounced. Provost finished the game with two hits, Christian Jones (Washington) had two RBI and Chiramonte’s three RBI led the Halos attack. Marco Murillo (Campbellsville) had a pair of triples, driving in three, to lead the San Luis Obispo offense.

The Healdsburg Prune Packers sent ten hitters to the plate in their last at bat, scoring six runs on five singles and three walks in the bottom of the eighth inning to turn a 4-3 deficit into a 9-4 win over the Rockville Rock Hounds tonight at Recreation Park. Bryce Nagata (Sonoma St) and Esteban Martinez, each of whom had three hits in the game, singled and scored in the six-run eighth, and Cole Brodnansky (Santa Rosa JC) and Cameron Warren (Texas) each drove in two with their singles. Grant St. Martin (Sonoma St) and Max Smith (UNLV) hit back-to-back home runs in the fourth inning, St. Martin’s a two-run version, his third RBI of the game, to lead Rockville.

Richie O’Reilly (Georgetown) had three hits and as many RBI, and Scott Savage (Masters) threw six shutout innings to lead the Long Beach Legends to a 4-2 victory over the Southern California Catch today at Long Beach City College. O’Reilly, doubled and scored the game’s first run in the third inning, drove in a run on an RBI-single in the sixth and doubled home a run in the eighth, more than enough run production for the Long Beach pitching staff. Besides Savage’s six scoreless, Kyle Alcorn (Hawaii-Hilo), Charles Carr (Grinnell) and Cole Leaf (UCLA), each pitched one inning and, for the exception of allowing a ninth inning run-scoring triple by Evan Sandmann (Dallas Baptist) and an RBI-groundout, were blemish free throughout the game. Grant Gamble (Azusa Pacific), Trevor Steinman (Chico St) and Ryan Davis (Georgetown) each had two hits for the Legends. Grant Robbins (UNLV) had two hits for the Catch.

Christian Jones (Washington) hit a bases-loaded, three RBI double in what was the big hit in a seven run second inning for the Ventura Halos today, but it took a ninth inning RBI double by Nic Lacayo (Michigan St) to score Jake Peters (Southwest Baptist) with the game winner as Ventura beat the Academy Barons 11-10 at the MLB Urban Youth Academy. The Halos seven-run second inning, eclipsed the three-run, three home run first inning the Barons had posted. Three of the Barons’ first four hitters in the game homered, starting with leadoff hitter Javier Garcia (Compton JC) and, one out later, back-to-back home runs by Randy Rubio (Marymount) and Garrett Ouellete. In fact, after Jones hit a solo home run of his own in the top of the sixth inning, the 8-3 lead for the Halos evaporated in the bottom of half of the inning as Ouellette cleared a bases-loaded situation with a triple that gave the Barons a 10-8 lead. The Halos evened the score in the seventh on an RBI-triple by Chris McKee (Ventura JC), who soon scored on a wild pitch, to set up Lacayo’s game winner in the ninth. Jones’ three hits and four RBI, and Dayton Provost’s three hits led the Halos. Ouellete’s four RBI, Garcia’s three hits and three runs, and Rubio’s three hits and three RBI led the Barons. Aaron Solo (Marymount) had four strikeouts in three innings of relief for the Academy.

The Orange County Riptide scored seven times in the their last three at bats and three Riptide pitchers posted solid outings as Orange County beat the Arroyo Seco Saints 9-2 today at Jackie Robinson Stadium for their fifth win in a row. The Riptide’s Dominic Fletcher (Arkansas) and the Saints’ Brendan Krob (Evansville) hit solo home runs early, and each team scored once in the fourth inning, before Orange County scored three times each in the seventh and eighth, once in the ninth, to win going away. Late inning substitute Tate Shaw (Texas) had the big hits, notching three RBI on two singles, and Mitch Andrews’ (Lamar) RBI-double and two singles, highlighted the Orange County attack. On the mound Hayden Shenefield, Timothy Holdgrafer and Will Tomlinson (Brown) combined for ten strikeouts while scattering five hits. Kyle Merkel (San Diego St) started on the mound for Arroyo Seco and recorded five strikeouts in four innings, but did not figure in the decision.

The Auburn Wildcats capitalized on eight doubles by seven different hitters to post a 9-6 victory over the Walnut Creek Crawdads tonight at James Field. Adam Moreau (Dayton) hit two of the doubles and finished with a game-high four hits to lead Auburn’s hitters, all nine of which had at least one hit, and together totaled 15 in the game. Anthony DeSantis (Kansas) and Gaige Howard (Kenyon) each had a double and two RBI to also highlight the Auburn attack. Alex Baeza (Hawaii) had a pair of doubles and scored twice, and Matt Poulin hit one double and drove in two to lead Walnut Creek.

The San Luis Obispo Blues score five times in the top of the ninth and the Healdsburg Prune Packers score once in the bottom to send tonight’s game between the perennial CCL powers from the Central and North Divisions, respectively, into extra innings before Price Visintainer (Ala-Birmingham) drove in Andrew Ramos (Cumberlands) in the top of the 13th with the game-winner and a 7-6 victory for the Blues tonight at Recreation Park. The five-run outburst by the Blues erased Healdsburg’s 5-1 lead going into the ninth inning, and featured a double, five singles and a run-scoring groundout as San Luis batted around in the frame. Bryce Nagata (Sonoma St) doubled with one out in Healdsburg’s half of the ninth and scored on an single by Cole Brodnansky (Santa Rosa JC), who also had a two-run double in the seventh. Mac Lardner (Gonzaga) started on the mound for San Luis, finishing with seven strikeouts in six and two-thirds innings, and Visintainer’s five hits in seven at bats were the lead performances for the Blues. Nagata and Cameron Warren (Texas Tech) each had three hits to lead the Prune Packers.

Auburn’s 14-hit team attack, which featured at least one hit from nine of the eleven Wildcats to make a plate appearance, overshadowed the individual performance of Walnut Creek’s Alex Baeza (Hawaii) who hit a home run in consecutive at bats, a two-run version in the third inning and a solo shot in the fifth. Baeza’s fifth inning homer was also the second half of back-to-back home runs shared with Kevin Whitaker (Laney), who had hits in his first three consecutive at bats. Connor Caspersen also hit a solo home run for the Crawdads, and Hayden Houts (Northern St) had a three-for-three game for Auburn.

Dominic Fletcher (Arkansas) hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning and a two-run single in the fourth to lead the Orange County Riptide to a 13-2 win over the Arroyo Seco Saints today at Concordia University. Fletcher, Logan Pouelsen (Hawaii) and Beau Phillip (San Joaquin JC) each had three hits in the game, and Phillip and Will Proctor (Georgia) each drove in three runs to join Fletcher in highlighting the Riptide 15-hit attack.

Fairfield, CA
Tonight’s game between the Neptune Beach Pearl and the Rockville Rock Hounds at Yarbrough Stadium was suspended due to darkness with the score 19-18 in the Pearl’s favor. The game will be resumed tomorrow before the regularly scheduled game between the same two teams at Yarbrough beginning at 1pm.

June 15, 2017 – Pasadena, CA
Dustin Krob (Dayton) drove in Mitch Kerner (Emory) with the winning run with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Arroyo Seco Saints a 8-7 victory over the Long Beach Legends tonight at Jackie Robinson Stadium. Kerner, who had two hits in the game, including a two-run single in the Saints four-run first inning, reached base to open the ninth on a walk and advanced to third on a throwing error before Krob’s fly ball drove him in with the game winner. Despite falling behind early, Long Beach battled back to take a 7-5 lead in the seventh inning on a two-out, two-run double by Ryan Davis (Georgetown). The Saints tied the game in the eighth, however, on a pair of RBI-singles by Spencer Mossburg (Lee) and Derek Gibree (Saint Leo). Josh Little (NC Central) then struck out the side in the top of the ninth to set up the walk-off. Gibree finished with a game-high three RBI to lead the Saints. Grant Gamble (Azusa Pacific) and Michael Stefanic (Westmont) each had three hits, one of Gamble’s being a two-out, two-run triple in the second inning, to lead Long Beach.

Beau Philip (San Joaquin JC) hit a two-run triple and scored on a sacrifice fly by Aaron Greenfield (UNC) in a three-run second inning that gave the Orange County Riptide the lead for good in their 7-3 win over the Academy Barons tonight at the MLB Urban Youth Academy. Phil Steering (Hawaii-Hilo) had three hits, including a double and two RBI, and Logan Pouelsen (Hawaii) had three hits, one a double, to lead the Riptide’s 13-hit attack. Bruce Martin (Stetson) singled and hit a solo home run in the eighth, and R.J. Bates (USC) had two hits to lead the Barons.

Five Conejo Oaks pitchers combined to record 13 strikeouts, and three consecutive Conejo extra base hits with two outs in the first inning posted a lead they would never give up as the Oaks beat the Santa Barbara Foresters 6-4 today at Sparky Anderson Field. Erikson Lanning (Texas Tech), Ray Lambert (SanDiego St), Jackson Simonsgaard (Oxnard JC), Evan McMillin (UC Irvine) and Robert Medel (Arizona) kept the Foresters offense in check, despite giving up solo home runs to Ryan Cash (Oklahoma St) and Joshua Jung (Texas Tech), and every hitter in the Oaks’ lineup had at least one hit in today’s 13-hit performance, highlighted by a double and two singles in three consecutive at bats by DJ Miller (Ole Miss), and a double and a single each by Grant Mayeaux (San Diego St) and Brandon Lewis (LA Pierce JC).

June 14, 2017 – Fairfield, CA
Logan Finley (Benedictine) hit a three-run home run and Grant St. Martin (Sonoma St) and William Homza (Brown) hit two-run shots in the fifth inning to lead the Rockville Rock Hounds to a 21-7 victory over the Auburn Wildcats today at Yarbrough Stadium. Rockville hitters amassed 20 hits in the game, adding five doubles to go with the home runs, and were aided by nine walks allowed by Auburn’s pitchers. Finley and Jack Pridy finished with a game-high 4 RBI, while Kenny LeBeau (Nevada Reno) collected 3 RBI in two plate appearances, an two-run double in the second inning and an RBI-single in the third. Kyle Krebs (Solano CC) picked up the win in relief, pitching three scoreless innings of one-hit ball in relief of starter Rylan Haney. Sam Curtis (William Jessup) was 3-for-6 in the game, including a double, and Anthony DeSantis (Kansas) had five strikeouts in two and two-thirds innings of relief to highlight the Wildcats’ performance.
