June 8, 2016 Santa Barbara, CA Colby Barrick (Hancock JC/UCSB) and Bret Boswell (Texas) hit back-to-back home runs in the 1st inning, and Barrick added a two-run single in the second, as the Santa Barbara Foresters handed the Healdsburg Prune Packers a 5-3 loss today at Westmont College. Kyle Johnston (Texas) had six strikeouts over five-plus innings to pick up the win. Billy Wilson (LMU) had two hits for Healdsburg, including a lead-off home run to start the game. Also today: Long Beach, CA Zach Clinton (Liberty) pitched six innings of shutout ball today for the Southern California Catch, and the three relievers that followed him into the game did the same as the Catch blanked the Long Beach Legends 3-0 in a CCL matchup at Long Beach City College. Jaiden France continued his two-way excellence this summer by collecting two hits while playing third base and earning the save by closing out the final inning from the mound. See the boxscore/recap here. Irvine, CA Ernie de la Trinidad had three hits and three RBI to lead the Academy Barons to a 10-3 win over the Orange County Riptide tonight at Concordia University.
