Crawdads Top Blues in CCL Opener

June 3, 2016 San Luis Obispo, CA The Walnut Creek Crawdads beat the San Luis Obispo Blues 5-3 in the first CCL game of the 2016 season. The Crawdads scored three times in the top of the eighth inning to claim the win, highlighted by a two-RBI single by Alex Tsuruda (Chapman) and a run-scoring double by Brady Weiss (Paradise Valley JC). See the boxscore/recap here. Also today: Valencia, CA The Long Beach Legends pounded out ten runs on 14 hits to beat the Orange County Surf 10-3 in a nonleague contest. Oliver Jackson (Colorado State) led the Legends offense with 5 RBI, including his first home run of the summer, and John Montgomery (Eastern Michigan) had four hits, including a solo home run in the 7th.
