Long Beach Bats Warming Up; Neptune Beach Goes Extra for Win

June 14, 2016 Compton, CA Five Long Beach hitters had multiple-hit games tonight as the Legends beat the Academy Barons 11-6. Chris Williams (Clemson) had three hits and three RBI, John Montgomery (Eastern Michigan) added three RBI of his own on two hits, and Trevor Casanova (Lane JC) hit two doubles and scored three times to pace the Legends. Starting the season 0-3, the Legends have now won back-to-back CCL games. See the boxscore/recap here. (Texas)[/caption] Santa Barbara, CA Connor Mayes (Texas) dominated on the mound today for the Santa Barbara Foresters, striking out eight batters and allowing only one hit in six innings of work as the Foresters topped the Ventura Halos 5-1. Connor McManigal (FIU) had three hits and Colby Barrick (Hancock JC/UCSB) had two hits and two runs driven in to lead the Foresters. See the boxscore/recap here. Redwood City, CA The Neptune Beach Pearl and Menlo Park Legends needed extra innings to decide today's CCL matchup between the two teams at Canada College, but it was over quick once the game got to extras as the Pearl scored three runs on four hits in the top of the 10th inning to win 8-5. See the boxscore/recap here. Thousand Oaks, CA The San Luis Obispo Blues shutout the Conejo Oaks 6-0 today at Sparky Anderson Field. Stats for this game were not available at post time.
