Razorbacks Spanberger and Arledge Lead Oaks to Win

June 15, 2016 Thousand Oaks, CA Chad Spanberger (Arkansas) homered and doubled today to lead the Conejo Oaks to a 6-3 win over the visiting Long Beach Legends at Sparky Anderson Field. Spanberger had three RBI on the day, two on his first home run of the season in the third inning. Jake Arledge a teammate of Spanberger's at Arkansas, had three hits, and Chad Bible (San Diego State) added a two-run double in the fourth. See the boxscore/recap here. Also today in CCL action: Ventura, CA The Santa Barbara Foresters beat the Ventura Halos for the second day in a row, winning today 8-3 at Ventura College. Dylan Paul (Texas State) had three RBI, including a two-run triple in the sixth, and Connor McManigal (FIU) added three RBI of his own on two hits. Colby Barrick (Hancock JC/UCSB) continued his hot hitting, adding two hits in four at bats today and scoring twice. Kyle Johnson (Texas) had six strikeouts in six innings but left the game with the Foresters leading only 4-3. Relievers Max Gibbs (Cal St Fullerton) and Nick Kennedy (Texas) held the Halos in check as the Foresters offense sored two in the seventh and two in the ninth to secure the win.
